She also exhibited as part of SALA at the Seven Stars Hotel in Adelaide.
Completing a number of commissions over the last few years in both painting and drawing , she is multimedia trained whether it be portraiture, pets, nature, architecture or landscape and uses oil and acrylic paint, water colour, graphite pencil and Prismacolours.
As A retiree, Sheryl hopes to begin to teach art classes and individuals in Adelaide, combining her talents to enable effective learning of a variety of professional techniques.
She is considering reproducing some prints of her original art works but this is still a work in progress,
To celebrate the beauty of nature, and enhance links to foster the preservation of our planet through appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of its biodiversity is Sheryl's philosophy. Her backyard , the beach, and everyday life are her inspiration, but she follows through with bidiverisity and a love of conservation, using her garden to provide homes for urban animals, whether it be with the frogs that live in the ponds, the salvia and fuschias that attract and shelter the small native birds, and bees, or the geckos and lizards that have found cosy spots to live her art is not an artificial arrangement of composition, but purely a realistic representation of what happens. It captures a moment of time.
Sheryl uses a number of mediums to work witn, but the source is usually a photograph, so she can capture the intimate detail. Sketches can be in graphite pencil, but also use colour and mixed media. Paintings be acrylic or oil on canvas, but she also particularly loves the fluidity of water-colour and depth of oil paints. Her work is also replicated in greeting card designs, so that a gift can be accompanied by an original heartfelt sentiment.
